Turk Custom Homes, a division of Turk Holdings, LLC, is a premiere Tampa Bay construction company who works on upscale residential and commercial projects. Our reputation is our foundation and it is a reflection of our commitment to our clients and their valuable time and investment. We construct quality products and offer traditional craftsmanship in everything that we build. 

We work with the finer details, such as hand crafted, one-of-a-kind pieces and classic touches, to give discerning clients the unique, signature property they desire. Our Team



KURT PLUM

Owner

Kurt is a third generation native of the Tampa Bay area. He grew up in Palmetto, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 1985 with a degree in agriculture. After college Kurt worked for Naples Tomato Growers and others throughout the tomato industry up until 2004. Kurt worked in executive management positions throughout California and Puerto Rico from growing to packing and sales.
 
Kurt began in construction as a hobby in the early 1980’s, which has led to a career, profession and passion today. In 2001, Branden and Kurt renovated their first home together on the 18th hole at the Babe Zaharias golf course in Tampa. In 2004, they incorporated their construction business.  
 
In 2005, Kurt passed the state exam for a Florida General Contractor. In 2008, Kurt passed the State of Florida Real Estate exam and currently holds his state license. Although he is not a practicing realtor, his experience and networking within the field of real estate is an asset to the business and the client.  

Today, Kurt specializes in all areas of operations, including the project strategies and implementations. He continues to proactively build, inspire, motivate and nurture relationships with clients and regulatory agencies. 


BRANDEN PASTILONG

Owner

Originally from West Virginia, Branden graduated in 1995 from West Virginia University with a degree in Accounting. He began his construction career in 1991 during college by re-surfacing concrete on bridges in Northern West Virginia for Champagne-Webber Bridge. He gained much of his construction experience and knowledge through his work as a member of the Construction Laborers International Union of North America working alongside carpenters, pipe fitters and equipment operators at the Haywood Power Station during the construction of the coal scrubber systems working for J.A. Jones Construction and Minnotte Contracting.  

After college Branden worked as the assistant controller at the manufacturing and distribution facility for Bruce Hardwood Floors in Nashville, Tennessee.

In 1998 Branden moved to Tampa, Florida where he worked as a senior accountant for Invest Financial Corporation.

In 2001, Branden and Kurt renovated their first home together on the 18th hole at the Babe Zaharias golf course in Tampa. In 2004, they incorporated their construction business. Starting that same year, Branden occasionally worked as an insurance adjuster during the hurricane seasons estimating construction costs and adjusting insurance claims for natural disasters including Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, as well as the Florida hurricanes of Charlie, Frances and Wilma. Branden currently holds a state license as a Florida Insurance Adjuster.

In 2005, Branden passed the state exam for a Florida General Contractor. In 2008, he passed the state exam for a Florida Roofing Contractor. Branden has been an EPA certified lead based paint contractor since 2012.

From 2005 to 2008, Branden was an instructor for Cam Tech School of Construction specializing in business and finance for prospective contractors that were studying for the state exam during weekend courses. Branden studied Spanish in Guatemala starting in 2008 and is fluent in Spanish, which has been a great asset for the business. 

Today, Branden specializes in job cost estimates, budgets, project management and contracts, as well as personnel and administration. Branden’s 26 years of experience in construction and accounting has been an asset to the business and the clients.

TRUMAN

Boss Dog

In 2009, Truman was born and immediately began within the business. Truman specializes in human resources, as well as public relations. He is a Vizsla and he enjoys his work days observing the progress of the job site from his office in the back seat of Kurt’s truck. Truman’s dedication and consistency has been an asset to the company, as well as the community. He enjoys traveling and has visited Costa Rica, as well as Montana. His passion is food and he enjoys spending time in the kitchen. When Truman is not working, he can be found lying on the couch or running on the beach at Little Gasparilla Island, which is one of his favorite vacation spot.


WYATT PLUM


Wyatt is the next generation for the company, as well as Kurt’s nephew. Wyatt joined the team in early 2017. He is learning the trade in all aspects of the business and hopes to be a carrier of the torch in the future. Wyatt reports directly to Truman.
     
When Wyatt is not working, he enjoys his time doing off-shore fishing and hunting guides around the Tampa area. In 2013, Wyatt passed his United States Coast Guard Captains license exam. During 2016, Wyatt worked in Alaska as a guide for drift boat charters fishing for salmon and halibut.
     
According to Truman, Wyatt is an extremely hard worker. Truman has instilled discipline within Wyatt as he insists meeting daily for lunch to discuss the most important aspects of the day. Food.
